1. Service description

Today In is a daily educational content platform that provides standards-aligned bell ringer content for teachers and students. The platform generates reading passages with comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar questions, differentiated across grade bands (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12) and multiple subjects. By using Today In, you agree to these terms.

2. Account responsibilities

If you create an account, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Providing accurate and current information during registration.
• Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must be at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent to create an account. Teacher accounts are intended for use by educators and school administrators.

3. Free tier and paid subscriptions

Today In offers two tiers of service:

• Free tier: Access to today's bell ringer content across all subjects and grade bands. No account required. No limitations on daily content.
• Paid tier (Teacher Pro): Full year archive access, downloadable PDFs, answer keys, extension activities, projection mode, and classroom tools. Billed monthly or annually.

Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or Stripe's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use Today In only for lawful, educational purposes. You may not:

• Redistribute, resell, or sublicense our content for commercial purposes.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content in bulk.
• Attempt to circumvent access controls or subscription requirements.
• Use our platform to distribute malware, spam, or inappropriate content.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.

Teachers may print, project, and distribute Today In content within their own classrooms as part of normal educational use. This includes making photocopies for students and projecting content during class.

5. Content ownership

All bell ringer content, reading passages, questions, and educational materials generated by Today In are owned by Today In. This includes text, formatting, question design, and standards alignment.

Teachers retain ownership of any extension activities, lesson plans, or supplementary materials they create using our content as a starting point. We do not claim rights over teacher-created work.

6. Availability and modifications

We strive to make Today In available every day, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, update, or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice before removing paid features that affect active subscribers.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in activity that harms other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your access to paid features ends immediately, but you retain access to any content you have already downloaded or printed.

8. Limitation of liability

Today In is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the content is error-free, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that it will meet your specific educational requirements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Today In's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Today In, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or your violation of these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by placing a notice on the website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Today In after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
